Rhinoceros! Will has started to refurbish the beloved Reimann rhinoceros. This ears were chewed down by the last Reimann puppy, and it has been languishing in his shop for some years awaiting repair.
The ears are now fixed. Other detail work proceeds. The pictures are up on a new page, "Rhinoceros." We are working on technical issues to get Will's drawings photographed correctly (few of the papers used are as yellow or pink and gray as they appear in these images). In the meantime--we'll be putting up some of our experiments as we try to improve the accuracy of the color balance in these images. These kudus live at the Como Zoo in Saint Paul, Minnesota. (click on thumbnail to view drawing page/full size image) Will just returned from the San Diego Crew Classic, which he attends every year for the dual purpose of rowing and visiting the San Diego Zoo. He reports: "1 and ½ drawings." And some decent racing. That's artist-code for "One that I'm satisfied with, and one that has some good passages, but does not overall cohere." Needless to say, I am currently harrying him to get a picture of at least the "1," because I, twelve thousand miles away, would like to see it. Anyone else? *g* On the Radnor Township page, a Google Map which shows these two monumental scupltures by Will has been added.
The technology is not perfect (the artworks do not have street addresses, so only the Griffin is visible on the first view of the map. Still, it's pretty cool. --Katya Streamlining this process...
To contact Will directly, please click on the "Contact Will" link to the right => and use the form. Will's work bag It has been a pleasure for Will and Katya both, to receive the many kind comments that have welcomed the new pages. Thank you to all! We are still working out how to use this page/blog. So far, so good. Currently Will is responding to messages as he sees them, and Katya is combing through afterwards to tidy up. Comments may disappear after Will or Katya has had contact with a poster directly. To avoid spam, email addresses have not been published on this site, but we will attempt to respond to all messages we receive, privately or publicly, as appropriate. Enjoy the mildly comical "pushmi-pullyu" effect as Katya and Will sort out who responds to what, and where? (Katya's hope is that her role in technical support will become less visible as Will familiarizes himself with the technology) Beware the Ides of March!
Welcome, and please feel free to leave your comments. For those of you familiar with Will's old site, there is much new content and many upgraded photographs. We'll be combing over the site for the next few weeks, trying to eliminate oddities. Please address any questions to me (Katya) and I will pass them on to Will. Almost ready to go live here.
The pages have been completely updated from Will's old site (last updated 2006!). It is hoped that with this new platform, we'll have an easier time updating images &c. |
