Materials
|
|
The Heritage Panels are enduring pieces, not made of composites or molded
from stone dust. The stone will vary from piece to piece, a quality inherent
in natural materials. The carving method ensures that no two panels will appear
exactly alike. Each piece is unique. Expect your panel to appear subtly different
from the photograph from which you ordered.
The slate, "Italian Slate," is dark grey, from a quarry in New York State, approximately
3/4" thick, with a smooth surface. Edges have a honed finish with a slight chamfer.
The glass is a special white glass called "Diamont." The material, imported from
Europe, is perfectly clear, with no teal-toned tinge. 3/8" thick with polished edges.
The white granite, "Imperial White" originates from mid-Western quarries. Edge and width are as
for slate.
The light grey granite originates from Barre, Vermont. Edge and width are as
for slate.
The black granite, "Zimbabwe Black," originates from Africa. Edge and width are as
for slate.
The terra cotta brown granite, "Dakota Mahogany," originates from a quarry in South Dakota.
Edge and width are as for slate.

Display Suggestions

Directions for wall mounting are enclosed with the sculpture when it is
shipped.

Granite & Slate
|
Wall-mounting (in entry, interior or exterior walls)
The panels can be ordered with two rear mounting holes for easy conventional hanging.
Upright Display (shelves, tables, floor)
We suggest using our stands, available for separate purchase.
Flat Display (shelves, tables, floor)
The stone panels, being a natural material, have a mildly abrasive
texture. Cushion your sculpture with a felt or chamois cloth before laying
it flat on any vulnerable surface.
Permanent Installations (Floor tile centerpieces, wall markers, or fireplace)
Stone is an enduring, permanent material appropriate for both interior and exterior
installations. The Granite panels will resist wear in any placement. Slate, a
softer material, should be reserved for installations where it will not be
subject to water freezing on its surface.

Glass
|
Wall-mounting (in entry or interior walls)
Glass panels must be framed before they can be wall-mounted.
Upright Display(shelves, tables)
We suggest using our stands, available for separate purchase.
Flat Display (shelves, tables)
Our glass panels have a smooth rear face. However, we strongly recommend
cushioning your sculpture with a felt or chamois cloth before laying
it flat on any vulnerable surface.
Permanent Installations (Interior windows & transoms)
We recommend interior installation only, unless the panel is installed behind a
layer of exterior protection.
