The panels at Piers Park are organized roughly regionally, with each face
representing the nations or cultures of a broad geographic area. The cultures
depicted on these panels represent the 50 most populous ethnic identities of
East Boston (as determined by the 1990 census) with the addition of a few
historically important representatives of East Boston's past population.
