Abstract Panel Sculptures
In the 1980s, William Reimann began to take commissions in stone, glass, & Plexiglas creating large-scale bas-relief imagery for corporate and private settings.
Projects included major commissions for the Christian Scientists' Main Complex in Boston, MA. ("A Light Unto My Path"), hotels, and banks. The work on this page should be viewed an extension of Will's abstract Plexiglas sculptures, exploring sinuous organic forms to create a deceptively three dimensional effect on these flat carved panels. The preparatory drawings for these pieces were done by hand, with numerous overlay sketches and corrections until the desired curves and density was achieved. |
