Holyoke Standing Stones

4 sandblast-carved standing stones

dimensions: each 10' x 2' x 8"

Korean War Veteran's Plaza
Holyoke, Massachusetts

This installation is comprised of 4 ten foot standing stones with 36 images, representing the cultural heritage of the city's current and historical population, sandblasted on their front and back faces.

The eight faces represent nations from: South America; The Mediterranean; Asia; Northern Europe; Europe, Russia and the Baltic States; the Nordic nations; and Local Native American Tribes.

Commissioned by the City of Holyoke
with Carol R. Johnson Associates, L.A., Cambridge, Ma.
