Take a Seat: The Chair Show

3/18/2015

William P. Reimann Chair, as presented by Christopher Reimann, March, 2015"My Dad made this for me when I was just a pup. Come see it and a bunch of other cool chairs at Featherstone this weekend or anytime they are open in the next month."
Featherstone Center for the Arts
Open Daily from 12pm-4pm
through Wednesday April 8th

We all have them- they live in our homes, offices, on the porch, and at the beach.

So many of us on island use repurposed materials and structures to create warm comfortable spaces. We want to see how you the artist can find inspiration in the daily often over looked object: “The Chair”. Whether it’s painting, drawing, sculpting, woodworking, welding, reupholstering or using unconventional materials, we encourage all artists to think outside the box. Don’t be shy! Let’s create our own usable, or non usable chair, to plant our bodies or merely for decoration.

Opening Reception: Sunday, March 15th 4pm - 6pm

With record falling snow in Massachusetts this year, it's been quite the winter of shoveling!  Break out (if you're in the area) and enjoy this informal presentation of some really cool chairs, right next to the recently iced-out lagoon on Martha's Vineyard Island...
