Happy May Day! It feels like vandalism to post Will's drawings with the glare of reflective glass ghosting over the image.... But this one recently went out to a private collection and this is the best image we have of it.
Will did a lot of preliminary drawings, and there's a series of completed works that we're all enjoying very much. Here's one of the mid-size ones (original pencil image, 16" x 14")
Will has been in Germany, but he's back, and has resumed work on the photography archive. This week, five new images. The animal ones are excellent (the warthog head is my favorite), but--this week, two figure drawings. We have been attempting to track down images of Will's Elaine series, from the early 70s. If anyone checking through here happens to be someone who has one or more of those hanging on their walls--would it be possible for you to forward us a best-quality image of your drawing? It would be greatly appreciated from this end. On another note, there are some issues with the "updated" templates that make up these pages. While I'm getting that sorted, I'll be putting all this week's fresh images on this blog page, so they'll be easy to see/locate.
We are working on technical issues to get Will's drawings photographed correctly (few of the papers used are as yellow or pink and gray as they appear in these images). In the meantime--we'll be putting up some of our experiments as we try to improve the accuracy of the color balance in these images. These kudus live at the Como Zoo in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
